Why We Love It
It's been too long since we partnered with Ryan Stirm, a young winemaker who has really made a name for himself in the Santa Cruz/Central Coast area. This bottling is organic 2022 San Benito County Chardonnay, coming in at a lean 12% ABV. This was aged in entirely neutral barrels, but still has some nice texture to it with ripping acidity. Despite its Central California provenance, it feels very old world white wine in a lovely way.

Why We Love It
I'm a huge fan of the Counoise grape, the Alder Springs Vineyard, and my new friend Ed Donovan! This was a lucky find, and I'm thrilled to share it with you this month. I find Counoise to show a bit like rustic Pinot Noir, and a bottle with a few years on it like this one is impeccably smooth. There's a touch of soft acidity, great red fruit mixed in with some funk and spice, and this wine is fantastic on its own, with food, or with a light chill on it.

Tourist has totally changed the way I feel about wine
Tourist has totally changed the way I feel about wine. I'm never struggling to pick wine at a corner store last minute and I'm always confident that I'm pouring quality wine for my friends (at a great price!)

Tourist gives me the ability to experience new wines from all over the West Coast without ever having to leave San Francisco
Whether taking a break from our busy lives with the monthly release parties or finding a new favorite wine to share with friends, Tourist gives me the ability to experience new wines from all over the West Coast without ever having to leave San Francisco. Their knowledge of the wines, the intimate tasting locations, and the ever-changing wine options leave my friends and I always looking forward to the next month's party!

I highly recommend giving this a try – it isn't a stodgy wine club but a nice fun way to explore a bit.
I got a monthly 3-bottle subscription to Tourist a few months ago. So far I've been tremendously satisfied. It is fun to explore lesser known grape varieties that I would be unlikely to try under other circumstances and I enjoy the personal touch of the delivery options (including pick up parties!). I highly recommend giving this a try - it isn't a stodgy wine club but a nice fun way to explore a bit.
