Why We Love It
Very excited for our first collaboration with my friends Diego and Shaunt of Les Lunes Wine. I've been eyeing Les Lunes for years, but hadn't been able to secure any juice from them. I ended up moving into their new winery space in Richmond this past October, and have gotten to know and appreciate them all the more since seeing there operation up close. Venturi Vineyard is an old-vine CCOF site in Mendocino County, with original plantings dating back to the 1940's. This wine shows lovely acidity (aged in steel) but the old vines give it depth and complexity I don't think you'd expect to see in such a young, low-alcohol bottling. Diego and Shaunt ferment natively and make no additions beyond minimal sulfur. Thrilled to be working with them and I suspect it won't be the last time!

Why We Love It
For red this month it's a frequent collaborator in Alex Pomerantz, but a grape we've never featured before! In the bottle we have 2022 Lodi Cinsault from "Mike's Vineyard," farmed according to organic principles. Cinsault is a lovely grape, though sparingly planted in California at under 200 acres under vine. The wine is light in body, showing bright red fruit with a bit of crunch and pleasing acid. I enjoy it chilled with a Greek salad or simply on its own. This wine was fermented natively, and saw minimal sulfur addition prior to bottlig.

Tourist has totally changed the way I feel about wine
Tourist has totally changed the way I feel about wine. I'm never struggling to pick wine at a corner store last minute and I'm always confident that I'm pouring quality wine for my friends (at a great price!)

Tourist gives me the ability to experience new wines from all over the West Coast without ever having to leave San Francisco
Whether taking a break from our busy lives with the monthly release parties or finding a new favorite wine to share with friends, Tourist gives me the ability to experience new wines from all over the West Coast without ever having to leave San Francisco. Their knowledge of the wines, the intimate tasting locations, and the ever-changing wine options leave my friends and I always looking forward to the next month's party!

I highly recommend giving this a try – it isn't a stodgy wine club but a nice fun way to explore a bit.
I got a monthly 3-bottle subscription to Tourist a few months ago. So far I've been tremendously satisfied. It is fun to explore lesser known grape varieties that I would be unlikely to try under other circumstances and I enjoy the personal touch of the delivery options (including pick up parties!). I highly recommend giving this a try - it isn't a stodgy wine club but a nice fun way to explore a bit.
